Gaana Artist Profile: How to Claim It, and What Happened to Wynk

Gaana still has a loyal Hindi-belt audience. Here is how artists claim a Gaana profile, and why Wynk Music is no longer part of the plan.

Gaana Artist Profile: How to Claim It, and What Happened to Wynk

Two names used to come up in every Indian release plan: Gaana and Wynk. In 2026 only one of them is still a music app you can target.

First, Wynk

Airtel announced in 2024 that it would shut down Wynk Music and move users towards Apple Music through a partnership. The Hindu BusinessLine reported the shutdown, and Music Business Worldwide covered the move to Apple Music.

What does that mean for you?

  • There is no Wynk artist profile to claim any more
  • Airtel users now reach you through Apple Music, so claim your Apple Music page
  • Airtel callertunes (Hellotunes) are now set through the Airtel Thanks app, not Wynk

If an old guide tells you to "verify on Wynk", skip that section.

Now, Gaana

Gaana is still alive and has fans across Hindi-speaking states, especially for older Bollywood and devotional catalogues. It has an artist support portal at artistsupport.gaana.com where artists can find claim help and raise issues.

The general flow, as described on Gaana's artist support pages:

1. Make sure your song is live on Gaana. Artists do not upload directly; it comes through a distributor or label. 2. Go to the Gaana artist portal and sign in. 3. Search for your artist name and select your profile. 4. Submit your details, such as name, email and mobile number. 5. Gaana reviews the claim and may ask for more proof before giving access.

Gaana's process is less automated than Spotify's, so be patient and keep proof ready: your Instagram, YouTube channel and a link to the song on Gaana.

What to fix once you have access

  • Profile photo (Gaana often shows an old or blank image)
  • Correct spelling of your name in Hindi and English
  • Remove songs that are not yours by reporting them to support

A bhajan singer with many releases over ten years often finds several duplicate pages on Gaana. Report each duplicate link to support and ask for a merge.

A sensible plan for 2026

  • Claim Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, JioSaavn and Amazon Music first
  • Claim Gaana if your audience is in the Hindi belt or listens to devotional music
  • Forget Wynk
  • Set up callertunes on all four operators
